Claudia was raised in Maxwell and recently returned to her hometown after 50 years to retire in Maxwell, CA.
Artist and owner of Rusty Dog Textiles Studio where she works and teaches sewing, fiber arts, rusting textiles and watercolor. With a passion for California barns and rural art.
25 Years - Home Decor

Claudia began her sewing journey at the age of 10. After dedicating 25 years to the home décor industry, she recently retired where she focused on slipcovers, bedding, and window treatments. She is also the founder and owner of the thriving online business, Home Sewing Depot.
Claudia has been known around the soft home furnishings industry for 25 years as a sewer, teacher, and a dedicated supporter of the workroom community. She remains actively involved with the Workroom Resource Group and Home Sewing Depot.
Rusty Dog Textiles
In her latest ventures with Rusty Dog Textiles, she crafts beautiful pillows and tote bags. Additionally, she provides dyed panels that can be utilized by designers and workrooms. If you're interested, these panels can even be mounted and displayed as art pieces.

Claudia Buchanan offers original watercolors, creates fiber art wall hangings, and hand dyes fabrics in collaboration with Mother Nature.
Each piece is a unique blend of artistic expression and natural inspiration, ensuring that it not only captivates visually but also resonates with the essence of sustainable artistry.
Supporting Community Programs
Claudia is looking forward to expanding the community support and appreciation for the art programs in Colusa County. Claudia supports the arts and quilting community with memberships.
